STERLING DRIVE BY DILLON BATTISTINI SADLY ENDS IN THE WALL

SONOMA, California (August 24, 2008) – When the checkered flag dropped on the Valley of the Moon 100, Panther’s Firestone Indy Lights driver Dillon Battistini saw his position in the standings improve by one place.  For the driver of the No. 15 National Guard Delphi Car, the jump puts him back into the Top Five.

Battistini, who finished the race at Infineon in 15th position, will look to move up further in the standings as the series heads to Chicago.

“I am going to put this weekend behind me,” Battistini said of his races in Sonoma.  “I am looking forward to putting on a strong performance in Chicago.  I’ll be aiming for my fifth win of the season, and hopefully I will be able to reclaim third position in the championship.  The season as gone well to date, and winning the season finale would be fantastic.”

The Carneros 100 and the Valley of the Moon 100 at Infineon Raceway will air on ESPN2 Thursday August 28th at 5:00 p.m. (EDT).  The Firestone Indy Lights teams will be in action next on September 7th when they head to the Chicagoland Speedway for the SunRichGourmet.com 100.
