British Driver Dillon Battistini signs with Palm Beach Indy Racing

Indianapolis, Ind. (August 25, 2010) – Palm Beach Indy Racing (PBIR) has signed Dillon Battistini to drive its No. 37 Indy Lights Series entry for this weekend’s Chicagoland 100 at Chicagoland Speedway.

Battistini caused a sensation when he won his first oval race at Miami Homestead and went on to win the most races of any driver in the Indy Lights Series in 2008, including the prestigious Freedom 100 at the Indianapolis 500 weekend.

The 37 car will be run with the assistance of Sam Schmidt Motorsport and will be engineered by Don Bricker who previously engineered Battistini with great success at Panther Racing.

Battistini who has been working toward a full Indy Car program is hopeful this will be a platform for next year and delighted to be called up by Ron Dixon the Team Principal at Palm Beach Indy Racing.

Team sponsorship comes from Cicero’s Development Corporation, with additional support from Huntswood plc and Steve Bales Enterprises LLC.

Cicero’s Development Corporation is a Chicago based property development company who are celebrating 40 years in the industry.
British based Huntswood plc provides a range of services to support businesses faced with regulatory challenges involving complex customer issues, as well as offering business performance improvement solutions.

Steve Bales Enterprises LLC supplies Home Respiratory Services for home medical care programs.

“I am very grateful to Ron Dixon for getting things put together and for the assistance of Sam Schmidt. I am looking forward to working with the Don Bricker again, we work well together and I’m confident in our ability to come away from Chicago with a top result, even though everything has come together so quickly. Ron Dixon has assembled a very professional and talented team together plus the support from Cicero’s Development, Steve Bales and Huntswood, I hope I can reward all their hard work.

Our primary focus has been IndyCar, it seems as if I’ve done nothing but workout and go to meetings for months now. I think it’ll be a nice mental break to get in a car this weekend … then hopefully more.”

Obviously, I’m excited to have Dillon’s experience in our garage this weekend and to thank Sam Schmidt for his support.
Dillon’s a proven winner, if it weren’t for the economy he’d be in the thick of things in IndyCar this year, so it’s great for us to be able to have him at Chicago.”
